A collision led to The Owls getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Robert Uncescu hit a great ball. After taking down the ball on FC Luck's corner Silviu Hrandabur fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Ionuț Lungu quite easily take care of the ball. Eduard Mutu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ionuț Lungu having to interfere. The Owls's Ionuț Lungu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gelu Bulă in the 20th minute of play. Joel Bufi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nicu Mincu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. Joel Bufi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Nicu Mincu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 26 minutes into the match, FC Luck's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Bufi came free, but Nicu Mincu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gelu Bulă's late challenge caught a The Owls's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gelu Bulă helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of The Owls booed when FC Luck was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gelu Bulă didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gelu Bulă kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Joel Bufi might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nicu Mincu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Joel Bufi ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience was convinced that Eduard Mutu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ionuț Lungu was relentless in the 39th minute of the game. That was the end of his participation in the match. If Valentin Ursulescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 85th minute, Eduard Mutu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ionuț Lungu was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Alexandru Coporan charged in rather forcefully in the 88th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alexandru Coporan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Alexandru Coporan hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. Nicu Mincu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Bufi in the 91st minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Joel Bufi in the 92nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nicu Mincu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to FC Luck getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. George Huștiu hit a great ball. FC Luck were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over The Owls's much stronger midfield.
