Randkleve's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hertha 1969 the free kick. Hertha 1969's Simon Stiehl got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Randkleve booed when Hertha 1969 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mark Stripf didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 17th minute, Otto Højskel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tjark Ernst showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Otto Højskel, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. 26 minutes into the match, Hertha 1969's goal looked a bit too open when Otto Højskel came free, but Tjark Ernst reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Petter Rykov was a little too slow when Mark Stripf got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 28th minute. The score was now 1-0. Petter Rykov stood somewhat misplaced when Pascal Prinzing came free in front of goal and shot 2-0 to the left of him in the 30 minute. In the 38th minute, Hendrik Behloch hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Petter Rykov made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Pascal Prinzing sent off a good shot on target. 41 minutes into the match, Hertha 1969's goal looked a bit too open when Kaare Kandal came free, but Tjark Ernst reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Al Thorbek during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 45 played minutes Randkleve got a freekick which was hit by Al Thorbek. After 47 minutes, Pascal Prinzing mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hertha 1969 and the Randkleve players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 47 played minutes Hertha 1969 got a freekick which was hit by Pascal Prinzing. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

After a rather tough play, Randkleve's Moritz Illio got a free kick in the 54th minute. Tjark Ernst made an important save on a dangerous shot by Otto Højskel in the 57th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hendrik Behloch in the 60th minute of play forced Randkleve's goalkeeper Petter Rykov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Petter Rykov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mark Stripf, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hertha 1969 made a substitution. Klemens Teubner replaced Tobias Passmann. Petter Rykov stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Pascal Prinzing's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. Petter Rykov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mark Stripf, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hendrik Behloch received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Petter Rykov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Petter Rykov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hendrik Behloch in the 78th minute of the match. In the 80th minute of the match Hertha 1969 got a corner. Randkleve's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Simon Stiehl ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Hertha 1969's Simon Stiehl to fire away a dangerous shot which Petter Rykov despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 83rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Randkleve's goalkeeper Petter Rykov, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. During the 85th minute of the match Sonny Aae completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Sonny Aae a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 86th match minute, Randkleve was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sonny Aae to maneuver through the defense. Randkleve's Petter Rykov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pascal Prinzing in the 87th minute of play. 89 minutes into the game, Mark Stripf cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Petter Rykov was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Semjon Schapiro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Petter Rykov read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. 94 minutes had been played when some careless play by Randkleve's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Simon Stiehl was slow to take the kick. During this time Hertha 1969's players had a chance to rest. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Hertha 1969 fully deserved thier win.
