In the 3rd minute, Dorival de Moraes made a precise shot to the right of Falcão Araújo. SANTOS FC- FDFDF's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. A hard shot 6 in the game by Kléber Botelho from a close distance when the talented Ulisses Nogueira managed to make a qualified save. Compostela FSCMZ's players were relieved. Falcão Araújo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dorival de Moraes went, in the 11th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Augusto Vergílio in the 13th minute of play forced SANTOS FC- FDFDF's goalkeeper Falcão Araújo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Falcão Araújo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Petrus Catarinense, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. After 19 minutes SANTOS FC- FDFDF's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Davi Vergílio who took care of the corner kick. In the 22nd minute José Augusto Vergílio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Falcão Araújo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 27 minutes into the match, SANTOS FC- FDFDF's goal looked a bit too open when José Augusto Vergílio came free, but Falcão Araújo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kléber Botelho's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 33rdth minute, Ulisses Nogueira skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kléber Botelho in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ulisses Nogueira saved Compostela FSCMZ from getting behind. Falcão Araújo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Petrus Catarinense, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. 39 minutes into the match, Kléber Botelho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ulisses Nogueira. Compostela FSCMZ's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kléber Botelho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. In the 43rd minute, José Augusto Vergílio ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Falcão Araújo was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4. With his leg Ulisses Nogueira managed to avoid a goal in the 47thth minute, when SANTOS FC- FDFDF's Kléber Botelho fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side.

In the 52nd minute, Perivaldo Salles ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ulisses Nogueira was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-4. SANTOS FC- FDFDF's Falcão Araújo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save SANTOS FC- FDFDF from getting a goal against them. 62 minutes into the game, Dorival de Moraes recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Falcão Araújo. Dorival de Moraes showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-5. Falcão Araújo made an important save on a dangerous shot by José Augusto Vergílio in the 65th minute. In the 68th minute, Hudson Valadares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 70th minute, Wellington Cruz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Falcão Araújo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dorival de Moraes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 73rd minute, Compostela FSCMZ's Dorival de Moraes ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Falcão Araújo. Falcão Araújo yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-6. 75 minutes into the game, José Augusto Vergílio recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Falcão Araújo. José Augusto Vergílio showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-7. When José Augusto Vergílio came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Compostela FSCMZ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that José Augusto Vergílio couldn't finish the play. Compostela FSCMZ's Juvenal Silveira was substituted for Dorival de Moraes. Egídio Couto kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Kléber Botelho took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ulisses Nogueira. Ulisses Nogueira dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-7. Falcão Araújo was a little too slow when Juvenal Silveira got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 89th minute. The score was now 3-8. When the match had gone on for 93 minutes, Kléber Botelho put it in 4-8 from a short distance just to the right of Ulisses Nogueira. Lúcio Dantas's late challenge caught a SANTOS FC- FDFDF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lúcio Dantas helped the player get up and apologised. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Compostela FSCMZ walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
