The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After having played for 8 minutes, Remo Teixeira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. BOTAFOGOJF-FDFDF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Remo Teixeira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Andrézinho Porto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luiz Fernando Botelho in the 9th minute. With a little luck, BOTAFOGOJF-FDFDF's Andrézinho Porto got control of the ball when Tostão Pernambucano tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 11th minute, Luiz Fernando Botelho fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. When Caio Barral came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ- fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Caio Barral couldn't finish the play. After 17 minutes, Luiz Guilherme Félix mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the BOTAFOGOJF-FDFDF and the Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ- players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to BOTAFOGOJF-FDFDF getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Luiz Guilherme Félix hit a great ball. After 20 played minutes BOTAFOGOJF-FDFDF got a freekick which was hit by Kléberson Sarmento. Caio Barral was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 20th minute. Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After a rather tough play, Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s Carlos Augusto Mazza got a free kick in the 22nd minute. In the 23rd minute, Dinei Medeiros got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Caio Barral recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Caio Barral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Andrézinho Porto had great luck who in the 36thth minute grab hold of the ball when Luiz Fernando Botelho from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. The corner led to Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s Rui de Sousa getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. BOTAFOGOJF-FDFDF's Andrézinho Porto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Fernando Botelho in the 44th minute of play.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Remo Teixeira to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rui de Sousa in the 55th minute of play forced BOTAFOGOJF-FDFDF's goalkeeper Andrézinho Porto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Andrézinho Porto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luiz Fernando Botelho's shot from short distance in the 56th minute. 59 minutes into the match, Caio Barral had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Andrézinho Porto. BOTAFOGOJF-FDFDF's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Caio Barral was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. In the 64th minute, Caio Barral made a precise shot to the right of Andrézinho Porto. BOTAFOGOJF-FDFDF's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. The audience was convinced that Tostão Pernambucano's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Andrézinho Porto was relentless in the 67th minute of the game. In the 69th minute, Tostão Pernambucano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luiz Fernando Botelho in the 71st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Andrézinho Porto prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 72nd match minute, BOTAFOGOJF-FDFDF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dinei Medeiros to maneuver through the defense. In the 73rd minute, Wanderson Cruz made a precise shot to the right of Andrézinho Porto. BOTAFOGOJF-FDFDF's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-0. When Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s Luiz Fernando Botelho in the 79th minute got a chance for a shot 79th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Andrézinho Porto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luiz Fernando Botelho's shot from short distance in the 87th minute. In the 88th minute Luiz Fernando Botelho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andrézinho Porto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Caio Barral managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s supporters rose to their feet, but Caio Barral was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Andrézinho Porto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dinei Medeiros hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. Andrézinho Porto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Fernando Botelho, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ- had played much better football throughout.
