Eliseo Uxio dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Eduardo Santos charged in rather forcefully in the 5th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eduardo Santos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 5 played minutes PI FC got a freekick which was hit by Eduardo Santos. Zeledon Cloyo's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 7thth minute, Eliseo Uxio skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Ernesto Mambru struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Manuel Benitez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for PI FC. Manuel Benitez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ernesto Mambru in the 16th minute of play. Manuel Benitez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zacarias Llope, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. After a rather tough play, PI FC's Guillermo Tulio got a free kick in the 19th minute. The long shot by Orlando Arias in the 20th minute really tested Eliseo Uxio's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Libertad FC's Manuel Benitez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ernesto Mambru in the 22nd minute of play. Manuel Benitez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ernesto Mambru, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Bernardo Cesaro's late challenge caught a Libertad FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bernardo Cesaro helped the player get up and apologised. Eliseo Uxio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robustiano Orzaize, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. A collision led to PI FC getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Bernardo Cesaro hit a great ball. After having played for 33 minutes, Zeledon Cloyo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Libertad FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zeledon Cloyo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Zeledon Cloyo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Eliseo Uxio made a huge save. Zeledon Cloyo succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-0 in the 36th playminute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zeledon Cloyo got free with Eliseo Uxio in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Eliseo Uxio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zeledon Cloyo in the 42nd minute of the match. In the 44th minute, PI FC's Guillermo Tulio seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Guillermo Tulio the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of PI FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Guillermo Tulio had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. When the match had been going on for 47 minutes, Libertad FC's Edgardo Gonzalez got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Eliseo Uxio. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.
The wind increased when Modesto Felipo made the kick off in the second half. Manuel Benitez made an important save on a dangerous shot by Modesto Felipo in the 54th minute. Eliseo Uxio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cosme Egoi in the 62nd minute of play. Eliseo Uxio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robustiano Orzaize in the 63rd minute of play. 64 minutes into the match, Pascual Montxo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Eliseo Uxio. PI FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Pascual Montxo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. Eliseo Uxio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zeledon Cloyo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When PI FC's Ernesto Mambru in the 70th minute got a chance for a shot 70th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Libertad FC's goalie prevented a goal. 74 minutes into the match, Libertad FC's goalkeeper Manuel Benitez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Modesto Felipo. Manuel Benitez came out of the goal in the 77th minute to try and stop a shot by PI FC's Ernesto Mambru. But to his dismay, Ernesto Mambru quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zeledon Cloyo in the 82nd minute of play forced PI FC's goalkeeper Eliseo Uxio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 83 minutes into the game, Ernesto Mambru was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. PI FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Libertad FC the free kick. After 84 played minutes PI FC got a freekick which was hit by Ernesto Mambru. 90 minutes into the game, Zeledon Cloyo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-1. Eliseo Uxio was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. For all the effort they put into the match, the PI FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Libertad FC.
