The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Through an outstanding action, after 2 minutes, Tor Rosenlund successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Tor Rosenlund made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastián Izquierdo in the 2nd minute of play. 7 minutes into the match, Santa Maradona's goalkeeper Tor Rosenlund had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Baldomiro Hodei. Roberto Boniel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 19 minutes into the match, Martin Palermo F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Luis Santana came free, but Marcial Clemencin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 20 played minutes Santa Maradona got a freekick which was hit by Luis Santana. Tor Rosenlund made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastián Izquierdo in the 21st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baldomiro Hodei in the 26th minute of play forced Santa Maradona's goalkeeper Tor Rosenlund to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Santa Maradona's Fernan Perfecto in the 28th minute got a chance for a shot 28th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Martin Palermo F.C.'s goalie prevented a goal. With his leg Tor Rosenlund managed to avoid a goal in the 30thth minute, when Martin Palermo F.C.'s Baldomiro Hodei fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ulises Mikeldi during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Martin Palermo F.C.'s Ulises Mikeldi got a free kick in the 31st minute. Santa Maradona's Tor Rosenlund proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save Santa Maradona from getting a goal against them. Tor Rosenlund made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastián Izquierdo in the 37th minute of play. In the 41st minute Ulises Mikeldi suffered a knee injury and had to be helped off the field. Cristo Guillerme charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cristo Guillerme the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Martin Palermo F.C. made a substitution. Damaso Donostia replaced Ulises Mikeldi. After 43 played minutes Santa Maradona got a freekick which was hit by Cristo Guillerme. Baldomiro Hodei's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Tor Rosenlund firmly grabbed it by the left post. Tor Rosenlund showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sebastián Izquierdo in the 46th minute of the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Roberto Boniel made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ubaldo Sanson in the 51st minute of play forced Santa Maradona's goalkeeper Tor Rosenlund to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 52 minutes had been played when some careless play by Santa Maradona's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Jorge Jaunti was slow to take the kick. During this time Martin Palermo F.C.'s players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Jorge Jaunti almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Santa Maradona's Tor Rosenlund did a great save. If Sebastián Izquierdo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Santa Maradona's Luis Santana got a free kick in the 59th minute. In the 63rd minute Baldomiro Hodei shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tor Rosenlund saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tor Rosenlund made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Baldomiro Hodei in the 65th minute of play. 65 minutes into the match, Baldomiro Hodei had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tor Rosenlund. Santa Maradona's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Baldomiro Hodei was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ubaldo Sanson in the 68th minute of play forced Santa Maradona's goalkeeper Tor Rosenlund to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Santa Maradona:s Tor Rosenlund showed great skill when he stopped Jorge Jaunti:s penalty. Tor Rosenlund came out of the goal in the 75th minute to try and stop a shot by Martin Palermo F.C.'s Jorge Jaunti. But to his dismay, Jorge Jaunti quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. 83 minutes into the match, Martin Palermo F.C.'s goalkeeper Marcial Clemencin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fernan Perfecto. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sebastián Izquierdo in the 85th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tor Rosenlund prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 86th minute Baldomiro Hodei shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tor Rosenlund saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 89th minute, Luis Santana left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Santa Maradona fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. Luis Santana struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Marcial Clemencin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Santa Maradona. 94 minutes into the match, Santa Maradona's goal looked a bit too open when Sebastián Izquierdo came free, but Tor Rosenlund reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Santa Maradona's Tor Rosenlund played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Baldomiro Hodei in the 96th minute of play. In the 98th minute Baldomiro Hodei shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tor Rosenlund saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Martin Palermo F.C.'s fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
