But to his dismay, Rodrigo Frichoso quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 28 minutes into the match, La France FC's goal looked a bit too open when Placido Bidari came free, but Franco Costanzo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Franco Costanzo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Placido Bidari, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Fulgencio Bieito received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Lucio Thomas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aristides Hotz's late challenge caught a La France FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aristides Hotz helped the player get up and apologised. Aristides Hotz was shown his second yellow card after 44 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 44th minute, Aristides Hotz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lucio Thomas showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After the first half Boquenses were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
