The referee ignored Recolta Alamor's protests and gave Wilbert Darden a yellow card for diving instead. In the 45th minute of the match, Luciano Cronshagen got a very nice opportunity to score, but Santio Ilarraz was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Darren Stanley's late challenge caught a Aʀɴᴏʀ Fᴄ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Darren Stanley helped the player get up and apologised. In the 46th minute, Darren Stanley hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Gorosti Zalaya in the 52nd minute of play forced Recolta Alamor's goalkeeper Grigore Proca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aʀɴᴏʀ Fᴄ were furious when Kimetz Gauna was red carded, 82 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests.
