The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience thought a goal was coming when Herman Ngantuk got free with Fathi Abbas in the 2nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fathi Abbas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Fathi Abbas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Herman Ngantuk in the 35th minute of play. After 35 minutes, Mandra Wisanggeni mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lucky Star and the Salmiyah Power players grew even worse after the yellow card. Lucky Star's Firdaus Pasaribu was substituted for Fance Burhanuddin. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Herman Ngantuk in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. When Boudjemaa Haddou fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Salmiyah Power's protests and gave Boudjemaa Haddou a yellow card for diving instead. Boudjemaa Haddou hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Darius Karepouan took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 60th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Fathi Abbas. Salmiyah Power's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Kamal Habib was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Fadhil Meniri showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 75 minute of play.
