After a defensive mix-up in Melchester Rovers's zone, Kurt Lindman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jimmy Ståhlberg came out of the goal and Kurt Lindman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sonny Allbom hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. In the 10th minute the ball was on its way in behind Melchester Rovers's goalkeeper Jimmy Ståhlberg, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 12th minute Kurt Lindman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jimmy Ståhlberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bengt-Åke Håkansson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gert Arvidsson in the 17th minute of the match. After 22 played minutes The Heren Istarion got a freekick which was hit by Jan-Ove Vestberg. The audience thought a goal was coming when Andréas Sundin got free with Bengt-Åke Håkansson in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

A hard shot by Oskari Ilari from long distance, 52 minutes into the match, got Jimmy Ståhlberg's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Bengt-Åke Håkansson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gert Arvidsson in the 54th minute of the match. 55 minutes into the match, The Heren Istarion's goal looked a bit too open when Gert Arvidsson came free, but Bengt-Åke Håkansson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kent Carlberg hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Dan Hjortberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jimmy Ståhlberg having to interfere. Gert Arvidsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Bengt-Åke Håkansson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rasmus Colin's late challenge caught a The Heren Istarion's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rasmus Colin helped the player get up and apologised. Melchester Rovers's Jimmy Ståhlberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jakob Andreasson in the 69th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in The Heren Istarion's zone, Gert Arvidsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bengt-Åke Håkansson came out of the goal and Gert Arvidsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Andréas Sundin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With an all-out effort, The Heren Istarion's Jimmy Ståhlberg threw himself towards the right post 78 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Oskari Ilari, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Kurt Lindman took the ball and in the 79 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jimmy Ståhlberg. Jimmy Ståhlberg dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. The Heren Istarion had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
