PAOK FC's Chrisostomos Benakis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tasos Koskinas in the 5th minute of play. Tasos Koskinas kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fondas Koufaliotis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lakis Vernikos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 22 minutes into the match, PAOK FC's Giannis Kadoglou sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fondas Koufaliotis narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Tasos Koskinas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chrisostomos Benakis having to interfere. A collision led to Sheriff getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Stamatis Kaldelis hit a great ball. The supporters of Sheriff booed when PAOK FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eustratios Zouvelekis didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 32nd minute Tasos Koskinas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chrisostomos Benakis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alkis Bletsas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 51st minute of the match, but Chrisostomos Benakis made a huge save. If Giannis Kadoglou had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, PAOK FC's Chrisostomos Benakis got control of the ball when Tasos Koskinas tried to sneak it across the goal line. 65 minutes into the match, PAOK FC's goalkeeper Chrisostomos Benakis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Grigoris Kasnakidis. In the 77th minute Tasos Koskinas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chrisostomos Benakis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 79 minutes, Chrisostomos Benakis successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After 79 played minutes PAOK FC got a freekick which was hit by Apostolis Frantzeskos. In the 80th minute of the match Apostolikas Giannaros sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Chrisostomos Benakis skillfully saved the ball. After a rather tough play, PAOK FC's Akis Agathakis got a free kick in the 81st minute. The supporters of Sheriff booed when PAOK FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Akis Agathakis didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 88th minute of the match, Tasos Koskinas tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Chrisostomos Benakis saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Grigoris Kasnakidis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chrisostomos Benakis having to interfere. When the match was over Sheriff could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than PAOK FC throughout the match.
