Spectators: 159 (Terracing: 120, Seating: 36, VIP seats: 3) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Gaétan Schwartz got the match started through his kick off. A collision led to R.C. Marseille getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Jordan Girardot hit a great ball. 6 minutes into the game, Donato Guerriero was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Atletico Benevento's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave R.C. Marseille the free kick. After a rather tough play, Atletico Benevento's Donato Guerriero got a free kick in the 6th minute. In the 11th match minute, Atletico Benevento was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Donato Guerriero to maneuver through the defense. 14 minutes into the match, Atletico Benevento's goal looked a bit too open when Gaétan Schwartz came free, but Antonello Doris reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Gaétan Schwartz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 20th minute Teddy Wendling shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antonello Doris saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Antonello Doris showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gaétan Schwartz, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Donato Guerriero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Félicien Boucard having to interfere. Antonello Doris showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Teddy Wendling in the 29th minute of the match. In the 30thth minute of the game Alex Mei who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but R.C. Marseille's Félicien Boucard was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Honoré Lottin lost his temper 34 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 33rd minute, one of R.C. Marseille:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for R.C. Marseille. Félicien Boucard stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Donato Guerriero's shot from short distance in the 41st minute. Fulvio Cavallaro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Félicien Boucard tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Atletico Benevento getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Alex Mei hit a great ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alex Mei to strike the kick off in the second half. Donato Guerriero's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Félicien Boucard firmly grabbed it by the left post. When Cristoforo Arpaia fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Atletico Benevento's protests and gave Cristoforo Arpaia a yellow card for diving instead. Cristoforo Arpaia hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Donato Guerriero's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Félicien Boucard read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. A collision led to Atletico Benevento getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Cristoforo Arpaia hit a great ball. R.C. Marseille's Félicien Boucard proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save R.C. Marseille from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in R.C. Marseille's zone, Donato Guerriero stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Félicien Boucard came out of the goal and Donato Guerriero tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Alex Mei had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 86th minute, Quentin Escudié hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 96 minutes into the match, R.C. Marseille's goal looked a bit too open when Alex Mei came free, but Félicien Boucard reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Atletico Benevento had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
