The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jean Carl Mamo in the 9th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Josh Galdes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Sliema Dragons FC getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Leo Scalpello hit a great ball. Adrian Decelis didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Keith DeGaetano went, in the 12th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Adrian Decelis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Keith DeGaetano in the 18th minute of the match. Templars FC's Josh Galdes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Isaac Grimaud in the 23rd minute of play. Leo Scalpello hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Josh Galdes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leon Desira, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Tyrone Sammut Castelletti recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Templars FC's Josh Galdes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Isaac Grimaud in the 39th minute of play. Tyrone Sammut Castelletti sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 47th minute, Keith DeGaetano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jean Carl Mamo was the one to do the kick off. Josh Galdes made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Leon Desira sent off a good shot on target. Josh Galdes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Isaac Grimaud, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Templars FC's Josh Galdes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save Templars FC from getting a goal against them. Steve DeGaetano charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Steve DeGaetano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 59th match minute, Templars FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Steve DeGaetano to maneuver through the defense. The long shot by Isaac Grimaud in the 59th minute really tested Josh Galdes's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Jean Carl Mamo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but Josh Galdes made a huge save. Josh Galdes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leon Desira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Keith DeGaetano in the 64th minute of play forced Sliema Dragons FC's goalkeeper Adrian Decelis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Templars FC's Tim Hyzler was substituted for Tyrone Sammut Castelletti. Jean Carl Mamo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Josh Galdes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 70th match minute, Templars FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Angelo Piscopo to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Sliema Dragons FC booed when Templars FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gabriel Lentini didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sliema Dragons FC's Adrian Decelis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Keith DeGaetano in the 77th minute of play. Leo Scalpello hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. When Jean Carl Mamo fell near the penalty area in the 81st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sliema Dragons FC's protests and gave Jean Carl Mamo a yellow card for diving instead. Jean Carl Mamo hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. In the 91st minute, Sliema Dragons FC's Jean Carl Mamo ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Josh Galdes. Josh Galdes yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. After 93 played minutes Templars FC got a freekick which was hit by Tim Hyzler. Templars FC succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Sliema Dragons FC had controlled the match.
