Spectators: 161 (Terracing: 121, Seating: 37, VIP seats: 3) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Walmir Brodel started the match with the kick off. In the 4th match minute, Scarlet Speedster was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jânio Martins to maneuver through the defense. Dudu de Toledo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sidney Viana went, in the 7th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. In the 12th minute, Scarlet Speedster's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Sidney Viana fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 12th minute, Walmir Brodel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Romário Ceresso in the 22nd minute of play forced Ubatuba's goalkeeper Fernandinho Bastos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fernandinho Bastos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorginho Peres, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fernandinho Bastos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jânio Guimarães, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Fernandinho Bastos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jânio Guimarães in the 39th minute of play. The supporters of Ubatuba booed when Scarlet Speedster was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcel Gerber didn't get a good kick on the ball. Scarlet Speedster's Dudu de Toledo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save Scarlet Speedster from getting a goal against them. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Walmir Brodel in the 42nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dudu de Toledo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 44 minutes into the match, Ubatuba's goal looked a bit too open when Jânio Guimarães came free, but Fernandinho Bastos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Jânio Guimarães came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Scarlet Speedster fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jânio Guimarães couldn't finish the play.

Fernandinho Bastos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Romário Ceresso in the 51st minute of the match. Sidney Viana took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dudu de Toledo. Dudu de Toledo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Jânio Guimarães received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Fernandinho Bastos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 64th match minute, Scarlet Speedster was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leonardo Pombal to maneuver through the defense. In the 65th minute of the match Miguel Cruz sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dudu de Toledo skillfully saved the ball. Miguel Cruz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dudu de Toledo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Miguel Cruz, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. The audience was convinced that Sidney Viana's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dudu de Toledo was relentless in the 75th minute of the game. 84 minutes into the game, Jânio Guimarães was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Scarlet Speedster's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ubatuba the free kick. If Jânio Guimarães had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ubatuba's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
