Geovani Madureira kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. Márcio Abreu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 12 minutes into the match, Átomo F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Márcio Abreu came free, but Dorival Travassos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 15th minute Magno Pereira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dorival Travassos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Didi Rossi's late challenge caught a Castanheiro SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Didi Rossi helped the player get up and apologised. Didi Rossi hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. The Castanheiro SC fans' excitement grew in the 19th match minute when Castanheiro SC's Umberto Dionísio looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Dorival Travassos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Umberto Dionísio in the 26th minute of play. Jardel Amaral's late challenge caught a Castanheiro SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aníbal Silveira hit a great ball. 36 minutes into the game, Umberto Dionísio recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Dorival Travassos. Umberto Dionísio showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. 46 minutes into the match, Átomo F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Anísio Alagoano came free, but Dorival Travassos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

After having played for 58 minutes, Anísio Alagoano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Castanheiro SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Anísio Alagoano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dorival Travassos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Umberto Dionísio in the 66th minute of play. In the 70th minute, Cássio Pitta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dorival Travassos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anísio Alagoano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Umberto Dionísio took the ball and in the 81 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dorival Travassos. Dorival Travassos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. After a rather tough play, Castanheiro SC's Nilson Veloso got a free kick in the 89th minute. Pedrinho Guimarães made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Jerônimo Paraense sent off a good shot on target. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
