The referee ignored Chovet's protests and gave Ruben Kelemen a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Chovet getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Ruben Kelemen hit a great ball. In the 12th minute Leandro Ofelio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elvio Galo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 15th minute, Leandro Ofelio left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The El Retorno de Palermo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 18 minutes into the game, Chovet's Ruben Kelemen nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sergio Faron made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. After a rather tough play, Chovet's Herminio Jusepe got a free kick in the 20th minute. El Retorno de Palermo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gerardo Oalo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 24th minute Gerardo Oalo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elvio Galo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 26 minutes of play, El Retorno de Palermo's Gerardo Oalo made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Elvio Galo was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 31st minute, Damaso Estefan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Elvio Galo was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. The attack was good, but when Gerardo Oalo in the 34th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Sebastian Leoncio hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Elvio Galo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gerardo Oalo, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Elvio Galo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leandro Ofelio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 43 minutes into the match, Chovet's goal looked a bit too open when Damaso Estefan came free, but Elvio Galo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 46 minutes into the game, El Retorno de Palermo's Gerardo Oalo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Elvio Galo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gerardo Oalo went, in the 95th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-7 was the resulting score.
