Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 29 minutes into the match, Aristides Tipi dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Carlos Mercurio, 2-0. In the 39th minute of the match Virgilio Pere sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Carlos Mercurio skillfully saved the ball. Bonifacio Arotza stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Melchor Leheren's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. Melchor Leheren hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. In the 47th minute, Guaberto Bertran made a precise shot to the right of Carlos Mercurio. Correla q va en Chancleta's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

When Anacleto Llope fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Correla q va en Chancleta's protests and gave Anacleto Llope a yellow card for diving instead. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Melchor Leheren couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Guaberto Bertran during the 75th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
