The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Club Deportivo Diagüita booed when Buenaventura FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rolando Peralta didn't get a good kick on the ball. Victor Hugo Celis hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. José Amaya sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jorge Oberto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benito Babarovic in the 18th minute of play. Marín Quiñones didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Eloy Villarreal went, in the 21st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After 24 minutes, Desiderio Jurado mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Club Deportivo Diagüita and the Buenaventura FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 24th match minute, Club Deportivo Diagüita was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Desiderio Jurado to maneuver through the defense.
