Franklin Henriquez's late challenge caught a Vikingos FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Franklin Henriquez helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Vikingos FC booed when GuateFortín was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Franklin Henriquez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Carmelo Sandoval might have been able to make a better finish in the 10th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Apolo Giraldo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Carmelo Sandoval ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Vikingos FC booed when GuateFortín was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Humberto Ancheta didn't get a good kick on the ball. GuateFortín's Douglas Ayala suffered a sore thigh after 18 minutes and couldn't finish the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Marcos Baumar during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. GuateFortín made a substitution. Efren Viscarra replaced Douglas Ayala. Apolo Giraldo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Efren Viscarra in the 21st minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jorge Bonilla got free with Apolo Giraldo in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some careless play in the GuateFortín defense, Gonzalo Argoitz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fidel Santana. The GuateFortín fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fidel Santana should have stopped the shot. In the 33rd minute Efrain Elija shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fidel Santana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee felt a red card was in order, 34 minutes into the game, when Humberto Ancheta put in a rough tackle. In the 35th match minute, GuateFortín was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Humberto Ancheta to maneuver through the defense. Humberto Ancheta kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. In the 37th minute, Salvador Calvino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Efrain Elija made a kick off. Rosendo Estevez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Fidel Santana made a huge save. In the 69th minute Efrain Elija shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fidel Santana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 70th match minute, GuateFortín was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Franklin Henriquez to maneuver through the defense. After 72 played minutes GuateFortín got a freekick which was hit by Franklin Henriquez. 82 minutes into the match, GuateFortín's goalkeeper Fidel Santana had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Efrain Elija. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcos Baumar in the 83rd minute of play forced GuateFortín's goalkeeper Fidel Santana to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 84 minutes into the game, Efren Viscarra was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. GuateFortín's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vikingos FC the free kick. Efren Viscarra hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Gonzalo Argoitz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fidel Santana having to interfere.
