Juninho Pernambucano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 19th minute of the match, Zhuang Qiang Gang got a very nice opportunity to score, but Olexiy Stus was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by 傅默斐 during the 23rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 37th minute Han Sang Cheng shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olexiy Stus saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Han Sang Cheng had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Guruh Karisma showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juninho Pernambucano, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. In the 43rd minute Juninho Pernambucano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guruh Karisma saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Guruh Karisma came out of the goal in the 45th minute to try and stop a shot by Juventus FC's Robertinho Baggio. But to his dismay, Robertinho Baggio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Juninho Pernambucano to make the kick off. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Valter Britz helped the player get up and apologised.
