Spectators: 161 (Terracing: 121, Seating: 37, VIP seats: 3) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Mehmet Bedri Sağanalp started the match with the kick off. Lars Son made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mehmet Bedri Sağanalp in the 2nd minute of play. In the 6th match minute, Arsene Wenger Academy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alf Elg to maneuver through the defense. Lars Son made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gerard de Visser in the 9th minute. A collision led to Arsene Wenger Academy getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Peter Jonsson hit a great ball. With a little luck, Arsene Wenger Academy's Lars Son got control of the ball when Alessio Darmanin tried to sneak it across the goal line. The long shot by Nigel Holthuis in the 16th minute really tested Lars Son's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. After 18 minutes Arsene Wenger Academy's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Alessio Darmanin who took care of the corner kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Arsene Wenger Academy's goalie and right to Gerard de Visser. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Arsene Wenger Academy's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. FC Schoonhoven's Marcus Björling played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arnulfo Garin in the 21st minute of play. With a little luck, Arsene Wenger Academy's Lars Son got control of the ball when Mehmet Bedri Sağanalp tried to sneak it across the goal line. 26 minutes into the match, Arsene Wenger Academy's goal looked a bit too open when Bin Kabini came free, but Lars Son reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lars Son made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Christiaan van de Meerakker in the 28th minute of play. With his leg Lars Son managed to avoid a goal in the 29thth minute, when FC Schoonhoven's Mehmet Bedri Sağanalp fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. With an all-out effort, FC Schoonhoven's Lars Son threw himself towards the right post 30 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Bin Kabini, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Mehmet Bedri Sağanalp in the 32ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Lars Son, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. If Alessio Darmanin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 34th minute Charlie Bocklund shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcus Björling saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lars Son showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mehmet Bedri Sağanalp, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Charlie Bocklund managed to get in a good position for a shot. Arsene Wenger Academy's supporters rose to their feet, but Charlie Bocklund was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcus Björling breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lars Son made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mehmet Bedri Sağanalp in the 41st minute. In the 44th match minute, FC Schoonhoven was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Casper Buys to maneuver through the defense.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Charlie Bocklund made a kick off. FC Schoonhoven's Marcus Björling played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sven-Erik Bruhn in the 51st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mehmet Bedri Sağanalp in the 53rd minute of play forced Arsene Wenger Academy's goalkeeper Lars Son to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mehmet Bedri Sağanalp in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lars Son prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lars Son took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mehmet Bedri Sağanalp, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lars Son came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Schoonhoven's Bin Kabini. But to his dismay, Bin Kabini quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. In the 68th minute Gerard de Visser shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lars Son saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lars Son showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alessio Darmanin in the 73rd minute of the match. A collision led to Arsene Wenger Academy getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Marcus Lindsten hit a great ball. 79 minutes into the match, Arsene Wenger Academy's goal looked a bit too open when Mehmet Bedri Sağanalp came free, but Lars Son reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lars Son made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mehmet Bedri Sağanalp in the 80th minute of play. A very nice done corner allowed Arnulfo Garin to score against Marcus Björling in FC Schoonhoven's goal. 2-1 after 83 minutes. After 88 minutes Arsene Wenger Academy's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Alessio Darmanin who took care of the corner kick. Mehmet Bedri Sağanalp struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Lars Son didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Schoonhoven. 90 minutes into the match, Arsene Wenger Academy's Arnulfo Garin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marcus Björling narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Sven-Erik Bruhn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcus Björling having to interfere. In the 94th match minute, FC Schoonhoven was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bin Kabini to maneuver through the defense. In the 96thth minute of the game Mehmet Bedri Sağanalp who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Arsene Wenger Academy's Lars Son was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Arsene Wenger Academy's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
