Salliqueló's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Chadli Boudjedra ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 21st minute, Efrain Haimar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 23 minutes Salliqueló's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. Victor Paublo came out of the goal and Ahmed-Muhammed Muhammed tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mebarek Mammeri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ismael Loiola in the 37th minute of play. Pedro Bomba sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mebarek Mammeri showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ismael Loiola, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Victor Paublo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.
