Eduardo Baiano dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Desiderio Naelio might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eduardo Baiano. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Desiderio Naelio ran back to his position shaking his head. Richard Mendonça could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Ermegildo Horado made a huge save. Eduardo Baiano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Desiderio Naelio, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. In the 30th minute, Desiderio Naelio ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Eduardo Baiano was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Edgar Soutos short, quick shot in the 33rdth minute got Ermegildo Horado to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Donato Capixaba made in the 39th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Jaime Rodrigues immediately put the ball in play. Ermegildo Horado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Richard Mendonça in the 40th minute of play. Eduardo Baiano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Desiderio Naelio in the 45th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Inter Gala's Edgar Souto got a free kick in the 46th minute. After the first half CAI NEUQUEN were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jaime Rodrigues to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, CAI NEUQUEN's Desiderio Naelio sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Eduardo Baiano narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 90 played minutes Inter Gala got a freekick which was hit by Sandrinho Fontes. The Inter Gala supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching CAI NEUQUEN's performance. The match ended with a win for CAI NEUQUEN.
