The audience was convinced that Xie Shu Tian's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hans Ullrich was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. 12 minutes into the match, Xie Shu Tian dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Hans Ullrich, 2-0. In the 16th minute, Christan Benitez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roman Vrobel in the 20th minute of play forced Pecém's goalkeeper Denílson Leão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 22nd minute the ball was on its way in behind AC Sparta Plzeň's goalkeeper Hans Ullrich, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Pecém's Denílson Leão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Christan Benitez in the 23rd minute of play. Denílson Leão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Douglas Torres, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Hans Ullrich came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by Pecém's Xie Shu Tian. But to his dismay, Xie Shu Tian quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. 64 minutes had been played when some careless play by Pecém's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Roman Vrobel was slow to take the kick. During this time AC Sparta Plzeň's players had a chance to rest. After 66 minutes, Xie Shu Tian made it 4-0 with a short kick to the right side. AC Sparta Plzeň's Hans Ullrich tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Lucio Austin took the ball and in the 72 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hans Ullrich. Hans Ullrich dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. 75 minutes into the match, AC Sparta Plzeň's goal looked a bit too open when Xie Shu Tian came free, but Hans Ullrich reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 78th minute the ball was on its way in behind AC Sparta Plzeň's goalkeeper Hans Ullrich, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 81 minutes into the match, Pecém's Xie Shu Tian sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hans Ullrich narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Lucio Austin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Hans Ullrich tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. AC Sparta Plzeň made a substitution. Ondřej Maršál replaced Jiří Kytka. The supporters of AC Sparta Plzeň booed when Pecém was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Xie Shu Tian didn't get a good kick on the ball. 89 minutes into the game, Xie Shu Tian cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-0. Hans Ullrich was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A throw-in in the 94th minute of the game was made by Ondřej Maršál with Christan Benitez as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Hans Ullrich took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xie Shu Tian, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. AC Sparta Plzeň's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
