In the 32nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Kura Shetakan's goalkeeper Gordon Banks, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 34 minutes into the match, Kura Shetakan's goal looked a bit too open when Jari Alenius came free, but Gordon Banks reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jari Alenius might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gordon Banks. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jari Alenius ran back to his position shaking his head. Gordon Banks took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jari Alenius, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vellito Alguerdo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Olov Örtlund, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kong Yuan Sha stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 50th minute, Erk Hong left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The NAGANO F.C fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. NAGANO F.C's Vellito Alguerdo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save NAGANO F.C from getting a goal against them. 59 minutes into the game, Göran Ahlbom was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kura Shetakan's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave NAGANO F.C the free kick. In the 59th minute, Göran Ahlbom hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gordon Banks made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Clodoveo Weather in the 60th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Kura Shetakan's zone, Jari Alenius stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gordon Banks came out of the goal and Jari Alenius tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 65th minute of the match, Olov Örtlund tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Vellito Alguerdo saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. NAGANO F.C's Diego Beckenbauer managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Charlie Burman in the 69 minute of the game. Gordon Banks took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jari Alenius, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. NAGANO F.C's Jari Alenius got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jari Alenius might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gordon Banks. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gordon Banks was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. 86 minutes into the match, Gabriel Batistuta notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of Kura Shetakan's Gordon Banks. Gordon Banks was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
