Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. With his leg Dante Fernendo managed to avoid a goal in the 22ndth minute, when TaTeRo Boys's Endrik Halland fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Matias Taffarel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Denis Bonadona in the 24th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Venancio Emesto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sporting de Gijón's supporters rose to their feet, but Venancio Emesto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Matias Taffarel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
