The supporters of Furia Calamar booed when Wambalamba FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andre-Yann Dospel didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 17 minutes, Kaido Saia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Furia Calamar's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kaido Saia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Daniel Hanot showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Léo Souto, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Furia Calamar's zone, João Carlos Vianna stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Daniel Hanot came out of the goal and João Carlos Vianna tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Daniel Hanot showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juarês Donato in the 27th minute of the match. Meng Mo Yi hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Wambalamba FC's Cris Courtois proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save Wambalamba FC from getting a goal against them. In the 38th minute Juarês Donato shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daniel Hanot saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benicio Gipuzkoa hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Isidoro Gitano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cris Courtois having to interfere. The Furia Calamar players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Wambalamba FC were winning 0-1.

The audience was convinced that Conrado Savion's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cris Courtois was relentless in the 78th minute of the game.
