In the 19th minute, Luís Paulo Siqueira left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The GRÊMIO fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Sergio Goicoechea made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Nestor Tesone sent off a good shot on target. If Nestor Tesone had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sergio Goicoechea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nestor Tesone in the 30th minute of the match. The corner led Los Laguneros de AT's Cihan Baydar to fire away a dangerous shot which Sergio Goicoechea despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 33rdth minute of the game Silvério Pinheiro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Los Laguneros de AT's Simon Hori was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 41st minute, Marcos Cearense hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 42nd match minute, Los Laguneros de AT was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nestor Tesone to maneuver through the defense. In the 44th minute, Pedro Paulo Varela hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 47thth minute of the game Luan Valle who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Los Laguneros de AT's Simon Hori was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nestor Tesone made a kick off. In the 53rd minute of the match, Walmir Donatello got a very nice opportunity to score, but Simon Hori was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Thanks to some nice moves Walmir Donatello could shoot a difficult shot in the 53rd minute, which Simon Hori however easily saved by the left post. Nestor Tesone's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sergio Goicoechea read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nestor Tesone in the 60th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sergio Goicoechea saved GRÊMIO from getting behind. Nestor Tesone's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sergio Goicoechea read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. In the 66th match minute, Los Laguneros de AT was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by He Yang to maneuver through the defense. Los Laguneros de AT made a substitution. Tomas Abaurre replaced Fabio Nabar. A collision led to Los Laguneros de AT getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. He Yang hit a great ball. 71 minutes into the match, Los Laguneros de AT's Nestor Tesone sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sergio Goicoechea narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Nestor Tesone's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sergio Goicoechea read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 74th minute of play. It was a well-played corner which Tomas Abaurre managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. If Nestor Tesone had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nestor Tesone blasted a shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sergio Goicoechea having to make a save.
