Panait Urdoi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Martin Fossum in the 11th minute. Panait Urdoi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Martin Fossum in the 16th minute of the match. 18 minutes had been played when some careless play by Yala's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Rick Haremeijer was slow to take the kick. During this time AFK Petržalka's players had a chance to rest. Rick Haremeijer made a great header on AFK Petržalka's corner, it was just that Yala's Panait Urdoi managed to reach the ball for a save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Arnulfo Bastiaro during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Yala getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Yavuz Acabay hit a great ball. Yala's defense didn't have a chance, in the 29th minute, when Martin Fossum scored to the left of an out of position Panait Urdoi, making the score, 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Martin Fossum managed to get in a good position for a shot. AFK Petržalka's supporters rose to their feet, but Martin Fossum was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Panait Urdoi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Yala booed when AFK Petržalka was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mieszko Chodzinski didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 38th match minute, AFK Petržalka was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Víctor Antov to maneuver through the defense. Panait Urdoi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Martin Fossum in the 40th minute. In the 41st minute, Stanko Lobotka hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Arnulfo Bastiaro was the one to do the kick off. After 54 played minutes AFK Petržalka got a freekick which was hit by Martin Fossum. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnulfo Bastiaro in the 55th minute of play forced AFK Petržalka's goalkeeper Filip Garaj to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Martin Fossum took the ball and in the 59 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Panait Urdoi. Panait Urdoi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Panait Urdoi didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Martin Fossum went, in the 62nd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. In the 66th minute of the match AFK Petržalka got a corner. Yala's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Rick Haremeijer ran over to the corner to take the kick. Marcial Lore tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Panait Urdoi. An unnecessary self made goal, 4-0 in the 66th minute. AFK Petržalka made a substitution. Nikola Krstović replaced Martin Fossum. Panait Urdoi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nikola Krstović, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 80th minute, Nikola Krstović left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The AFK Petržalka fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. Rick Haremeijer took the ball and in the 84 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Panait Urdoi. Panait Urdoi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-0. In the 88th minute, Arnulfo Bastiaro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Filip Garaj was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-1. With a little luck, AFK Petržalka's Filip Garaj got control of the ball when Arnulfo Bastiaro tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 92 played minutes Yala got a freekick which was hit by Agustin Pello. 92 minutes into the match, Yala's goal looked a bit too open when Nikola Krstović came free, but Panait Urdoi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. AFK Petržalka had won after a very even match.
