Válter Siqueira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hugo Itzaina, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. Monumento Sports's Válter Siqueira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hugo Itzaina in the 9th minute of play. 10 minutes into the game, Paulo Tasso cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Santiago Meckel was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Válter Siqueira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hugo Itzaina in the 17th minute of the match. 21 minutes into the match, Monumento Sports's goal looked a bit too open when Juan Ramalho came free, but Válter Siqueira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Santiago Meckel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulo Tasso in the 24th minute of the match. In the 27th minute, Juan Ramalho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With 28 minutes on the clock, Flávio da Fonseca commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 29 played minutes Monumento Sports got a freekick which was hit by Flávio da Fonseca. Válter Siqueira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hugo Itzaina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Monumento Sports's zone, Hugo Itzaina stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Válter Siqueira came out of the goal and Hugo Itzaina tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Juan Ramalho in the 43rd minute of play forced Monumento Sports's goalkeeper Válter Siqueira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hugo Itzaina took the ball and in the 44 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Válter Siqueira. Válter Siqueira dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Paulo José Monteiro to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute Mauricio Orlanda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Válter Siqueira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 56 minutes into the game, Guaberto Betadur cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Válter Siqueira acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 79th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Andreas Dahlquist. With a little luck, Monumento Sports's Válter Siqueira got control of the ball when Juan Ramalho tried to sneak it across the goal line. Trapiche's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
