The tension between the Pogoń Stawiszyn and the Varennes players grew even worse after the yellow card. Pogoń Stawiszyn's Zbyszko Furgal was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 6th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Brice Leach showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gwidon Mietus, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Varennes's zone, Wojciech Szel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Brice Leach came out of the goal and Wojciech Szel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Brice Leach made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Zbyszko Furgal sent off a good shot on target. Pogoń Stawiszyn's Izydor Pruss shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 26th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Brice Leach but with some difficulty. Lester Ashby charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lester Ashby the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 28 played minutes Varennes got a freekick which was hit by Lester Ashby. Brice Leach was a little too slow when Zbyszko Furgal got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 31st minute. The score was now 2-0. With his leg Brice Leach managed to avoid a goal in the 34thth minute, when Pogoń Stawiszyn's Zbyszko Furgal fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Randell McCullough's late challenge caught a Pogoń Stawiszyn's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Randell McCullough helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Varennes getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Randell McCullough hit a great ball. Krzysztof Kochanowski took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 36th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Brice Leach. Varennes's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 38 minutes into the game, Zbyszko Furgal recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Brice Leach. Zbyszko Furgal showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. In the 40th minute, Keven Willis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 45th minute the ball was on its way in behind Varennes's goalkeeper Brice Leach, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 46th minute, Lester Ashby made a precise shot to the right of Damian Jekot. Pogoń Stawiszyn's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zbyszko Furgal to make the kick off. Varennes's Brice Leach played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zbyszko Furgal in the 52nd minute of play. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Varennes players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
