In the 22nd minute Hudson Leão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zeledon Cutberto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zeledon Cutberto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dudu Borges, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Fidel Senon fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ullún's protests and gave Fidel Senon a yellow card for diving instead. In the 29th minute Dudu Borges shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zeledon Cutberto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Osvaldo Cambranes got free with Reko Nybacka in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The Ullún fans' excitement grew in the 34th match minute when Ullún's Osvaldo Cambranes looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Aírton de Queiroz's late challenge caught a Ullún's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aírton de Queiroz helped the player get up and apologised. The goalkeeper, Reko Nybacka, was totally fooled by Ullún's Fernando Clis, who 41 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. After 46 played minutes Ullún got a freekick which was hit by Nestor Caton. Zeledon Cutberto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dudu Borges, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

In the 52nd minute of the match Leonides Rodriguez shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Reko Nybacka showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 53rd minute, Hudson Leão got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Agnaldo Brodel kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Zeledon Cutberto. That made the score 2-2 in the 55 minute of play. Zeledon Cutberto was out of position in the 58 minute of play, and Dudu Borges capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Dudu Borges really showed his touch with that goal: 2-3. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hudson Leão got free with Zeledon Cutberto in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 65th match minute, Ullún was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fidel Senon to maneuver through the defense. Reko Nybacka showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Osvaldo Cambranes in the 67th minute of the match. Luiz Fernando Abraão could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Zeledon Cutberto made a huge save. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. The Ullún fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Catugi FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
