White Star Troopers's Fryderyk Huk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Borimir Shirov in the 37th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Klaas Jan van der Meer got free with Manuel Noyer in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 44 minutes into the game, Jerzy Jastrowicz recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Manuel Noyer. Jerzy Jastrowicz showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 5-1. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 6-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tihomir Kraynev made a kick off. If Jerzy Jastrowicz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute.
