The corner led Flamengo FC's Elano Ceresso to fire away a dangerous shot which Camron Gallagher despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 14th minute Marcus Soares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Serginho Azevedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Andre Skipton scored 0-1 in the 18th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Serginho Azevedo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 23rd match minute, Flamengo FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Samuel Luz to maneuver through the defense. In the 24th match minute, Flamengo FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Renato Ortiz to maneuver through the defense. Andre Skipton hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Garlic Eaters's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Flamengo FC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Garlic Eaters's Grant Ainsworth got a free kick in the 56th minute. Serginho Azevedo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Larry Wardill, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. When Flamengo FC's Arlindo Leão in the 61st minute got a chance for a shot 61st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Marcus Soares's late challenge caught a Flamengo FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marcus Soares helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Garlic Eaters booed when Flamengo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fábio de Godoi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marcus Soares got his second yellow card in the match during the 67th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Marcus Soares hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Manfredo Freire sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Andre Skipton scored 1-3 in the 75th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Serginho Azevedo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Serginho Azevedo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Andre Skipton went, in the 81st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-4 was the resulting score. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Larry Wardill managed to get in a good position for a shot. Garlic Eaters's supporters rose to their feet, but Larry Wardill was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Serginho Azevedo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match was over Garlic Eaters could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Flamengo FC throughout the match.
