The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Rosendo Estevez made in the 6th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Segundo Balendin however managed to control. After 8 played minutes Gnesta Oilers got a freekick which was hit by Karl-Ove Söderström. Oscar Gines didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Karl-Ove Söderström went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Bengt-Arne Lindqvist hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Lázaro Millrick received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Holger Vennerlund tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Gnesta Oilers booed when Vikingos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcos Baumar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Oscar Gines showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from John Dahlquist, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Holger Vennerlund didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 25th minute, which inside left pole to 1-1. Alfred Liljeström missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 34 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Oscar Gines right hand side. When Simon Liher fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vikingos FC's protests and gave Simon Liher a yellow card for diving instead. Simon Liher hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. John Dahlquist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oscar Gines having to interfere. After 48 minutes of play, Gnesta Oilers's John Dahlquist made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Oscar Gines was left in no man's land by his defense there! Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Karl-Ove Söderström to strike the kick off in the second half. A sloppy throw-in by Paulo Oliviero in the 57th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Gnesta Oilers's Kasper Vallman. Vikingos FC's Oscar Gines proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to save Vikingos FC from getting a goal against them. In the 64th match minute, Vikingos FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rosendo Estevez to maneuver through the defense. In the 67th match minute, Vikingos FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gustavo Ireno to maneuver through the defense. After 69 played minutes Vikingos FC got a freekick which was hit by Gustavo Ireno. Vikingos FC's Oscar Gines played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by John Dahlquist in the 72nd minute of play. 72 minutes into the match, Vikingos FC's goal looked a bit too open when John Dahlquist came free, but Oscar Gines reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 75 minutes into the game, John Dahlquist was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gnesta Oilers's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vikingos FC the free kick. In the 75th match minute, Gnesta Oilers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by John Dahlquist to maneuver through the defense. 77 minutes into the match, Vikingos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Karl-Ove Söderström came free, but Oscar Gines reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Karl-Ove Söderström in the 78th minute of play forced Vikingos FC's goalkeeper Oscar Gines to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vikingos FC's Simon Liher got his second yellow card of the match in the 79th minute. The referee ordered Simon Liher off the ground. Vikingos FC's Pedro Jakes was substituted for Marcos Baumar. In the 81st match minute, Vikingos FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Simon Liher to maneuver through the defense. In the 84th minute, Karl-Ove Söderström hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Karl-Ove Söderström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute.
