In the 10th minute, Gökçek Kolçak got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Zagłębie Dąbrowskie booed when Cobresal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Modesto Iriarte didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cobresal's Constantin Ionaș played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ziemowit Tomporowski in the 13th minute of play. Gökçek Kolçak did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Constantin Ionaș 16 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Julio Dudagoitia in the 19th minute of play forced Zagłębie Dąbrowskie's goalkeeper Marian Chilavert to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Cobresal booed when Zagłębie Dąbrowskie was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ömür Seyfeddin didn't get a good kick on the ball. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alifonso Apablaza couldn't finish the play. 43 minutes into the match, Cobresal's goalkeeper Constantin Ionaș had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Karol Biskupiak. The crowd rose to their feet as Karol Biskupiak kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Constantin Ionaș. That made the score 2-1 in the 45 minute of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alifonso Apablaza was the one to do the kick off. 54 minutes into the match, Zagłębie Dąbrowskie's goalkeeper Marian Chilavert had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by José Julio Dudagoitia.
