The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Segundo Gol showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Max Duinhoven, who was totally free with the ball in the 2nd minute. 5 minutes into the match, New England Minas's goal looked a bit too open when Max Duinhoven came free, but Segundo Gol reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. New England Minas's Segundo Gol played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Max Duinhoven in the 7th minute of play. Segundo Gol showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frans Geurtsen, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Segundo Gol prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rafael van Zeggeren in the 27th minute of play forced New England Minas's goalkeeper Segundo Gol to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 28 minutes New England Minas's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Max Duinhoven who took care of the corner kick. It was a well-played corner which Gertjan Engbers managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Segundo Gol showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frans Geurtsen in the 30th minute of the match. Chris Cabezon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, New England Minas's Jon Negron got a free kick in the 35th minute. After recieving a nice pass, FFC Merainies 03's Max Duinhoven tried to score from far away in the 36th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, FFC Merainies 03's Stefan Popken got a free kick in the 40th minute. Ricky Stolte received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Segundo Gol tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Segundo Gol showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Max Duinhoven in the 47th minute of the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

52 minutes into the match, Max Duinhoven had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Segundo Gol. New England Minas's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Max Duinhoven was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 55th minute, Fletcher Lund hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Segundo Gol made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frans Geurtsen in the 58th minute of play. In the 60th match minute, New England Minas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jon Negron to maneuver through the defense. When Max Duinhoven came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the FFC Merainies 03 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Max Duinhoven couldn't finish the play. Segundo Gol made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frans Geurtsen in the 64th minute of play. 65 minutes into the match, FFC Merainies 03's goal looked a bit too open when Chris Cabezon came free, but Gregor Compaan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 68th minute, Ricky Stolte made a precise shot to the right of Segundo Gol. New England Minas's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. In the 74th minute of the match, Rafael van Zeggeren tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Segundo Gol saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The crowd rose to their feet as Herbert Springelkamp kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Segundo Gol. That made the score 0-3 in the 75 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Max Duinhoven in the 78th minute of play forced New England Minas's goalkeeper Segundo Gol to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
