United FC's Fabien Barthez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mauro Chorache in the 9th minute of play. Zacarias Estebano hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edwin Smith in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Leopoldo Dias saved C.A.Ituzaingo Ψ from getting behind. Esteban Leizarraga hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. In the 21stth minute of the game John Villalon who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but C.A.Ituzaingo Ψ's Leopoldo Dias was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Leopoldo Dias made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edwin Smith in the 23rd minute of play. Fabien Barthez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patrick Linares in the 28th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when John Villalon stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Fabien Barthez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Patrick Linares in the 52nd minute of the match. In the 53rd minute Basilio Calvino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabien Barthez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leopoldo Dias showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Goren Cabañas, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling John Villalon in the 76th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Leopoldo Dias prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 79th match minute, C.A.Ituzaingo Ψ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Teofilo Ignado to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to C.A.Ituzaingo Ψ getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Arnoldo Pacho hit a great ball. Uriel Ribeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leopoldo Dias having to interfere. In the 85th minute, Ignacio Baristo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
