The referee showed Délio Tasso the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Vae Victis!! getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Délio Tasso hit a great ball. In the 6th minute, Jhonny Evans hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ivo Domingues's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fabien Barthez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 7th minute of play. With a little luck, United FC's Fabien Barthez got control of the ball when Dorian Neto tried to sneak it across the goal line. Tiago Gabriel Cabral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from John Villalon in the 12th minute of play. 13 minutes had been played when some careless play by Vae Victis!!'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Uriel Ribeiro was slow to take the kick. During this time United FC's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on United FC's corner Uriel Ribeiro fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Tiago Gabriel Cabral quite easily take care of the ball. 14 minutes into the match, United FC's goalkeeper Fabien Barthez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ivo Domingues. In the 18thth minute of the game John Villalon who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Vae Victis!!'s Tiago Gabriel Cabral was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Fabien Barthez made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Ivo Domingues sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Vae Victis!!'s Délio Tasso got a free kick in the 20th minute. In the 23rd minute United FC were awarded a corner. Uriel Ribeiro went to the cornerflag to take it. Goren Cabañas was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. 26 minutes into the match, United FC's goal looked a bit too open when Lauro Sarmento came free, but Fabien Barthez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. John Villalon struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Tiago Gabriel Cabral didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for United FC. In the 30th minute Lauro Sarmento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabien Barthez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. John Villalon took the ball and in the 31 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tiago Gabriel Cabral. Tiago Gabriel Cabral dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After 36 minutes of play, Vae Victis!!'s Ivo Domingues made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fabien Barthez was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 42nd minute United FC were awarded a corner. Uriel Ribeiro went to the cornerflag to take it. Fabien Barthez was a little too slow when Délio Tasso got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 44th minute. The score was now 2-1. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for John Villalon to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Vae Victis!!'s goalie took a deep sigh of relief after John Villalon fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dorian Neto in the 56th minute of play forced United FC's goalkeeper Fabien Barthez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edwin Smith got free with Tiago Gabriel Cabral in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Tiago Gabriel Cabral showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from John Villalon in the 61st minute of the match. Edwin Smith might have been able to make a better finish in the 61st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tiago Gabriel Cabral. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edwin Smith ran back to his position shaking his head. Vae Victis!!'s Lauro Sarmento got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vae Victis!!'s Ezequiel Hermes was substituted for Dorian Neto. John Villalon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Délio Tasso kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. A collision led to United FC getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Matai Melena hit a great ball. After having played for 86 minutes, John Villalon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. United FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but John Villalon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice moves Edwin Smith could shoot a difficult shot in the 90th minute, which Tiago Gabriel Cabral however easily saved by the left post. Lauro Sarmento kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match.
