The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Yahya Kongar during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Blue Mountain State's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luiz Paulo de Medeiros was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-3. Işıkalp Kalhan charged in rather forcefully in the 77th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Işıkalp Kalhan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 83rd minute, Koray Ömer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 86 played minutes Blue Mountain State got a freekick which was hit by Ricardo Kaká. 90 minutes into the match, Blue Mountain State's goalkeeper Mümtaz Oba had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rubinho Recife. Many of MarquinhosEC's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. MarquinhosEC may have spent more time on the ball, but Blue Mountain State were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
