Spectators: 7625 (Terracing: 5720, Seating: 1753, VIP seats: 152) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Roman Britton took the kick off in the first half of the match. Luiz Messias hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Roman Britton got free with Ruy Oliveira in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ruy Oliveira came out of the goal in the 9th minute to try and stop a shot by ForestFire's Lamar Knapp. But to his dismay, Lamar Knapp quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Papunhas EC's Ruy Oliveira proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Papunhas EC from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Papunhas EC getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Laércio Mazza hit a great ball. When the match had gone on for 20 minutes, Phil Greene put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Ruy Oliveira. Ruy Oliveira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Duncan Nichols, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Renatinho Barreto during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 24 played minutes Papunhas EC got a freekick which was hit by Renatinho Barreto. After 27 minutes of play, ForestFire's Roman Britton made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ruy Oliveira was left in no man's land by his defense there! Papunhas EC's Ruy Oliveira proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Papunhas EC from getting a goal against them. After 30 minutes Papunhas EC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Todd Mayes who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on ForestFire's corner Phil Greene fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Ruy Oliveira quite easily take care of the ball. Renatinho Barreto got his second yellow card in the match during the 32nd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Ruy Oliveira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lamar Knapp in the 37th minute. In the 41st match minute, Papunhas EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Laércio Mazza to maneuver through the defense. In the 42nd minute, Todd Mayes sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Papunhas EC's Ruy Oliveira didn't even have to move. Ruy Oliveira was out of position in the 44 minute of play, and Roman Britton capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Roman Britton really showed his touch with that goal: 4-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Frédson Rosa was the one to do the kick off. When Duncan Nichols came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the ForestFire fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Duncan Nichols couldn't finish the play. Ruy Oliveira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Phil Greene in the 54th minute of play. After having played for 58 minutes, Edgardo Courtney managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ForestFire's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edgardo Courtney was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ruy Oliveira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roman Britton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 67 minutes into the match, Roman Britton had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ruy Oliveira. Papunhas EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Roman Britton was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. Ruy Oliveira didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Roman Britton went, in the 72nd minute, to the upper right corner, 6-0 was the resulting score. In the 76th minute, Lamar Knapp ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ruy Oliveira was frozen by the shot and now it was 7-0. Duncan Nichols took the ball and in the 81 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ruy Oliveira. Ruy Oliveira dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 8-0. ForestFire walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
