Jacobus Van Landewijck made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Argyris Kalaitzidis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sheriff's supporters rose to their feet, but Argyris Kalaitzidis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jacobus Van Landewijck breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a little luck, Sheriff's Apostolis Kaliasis got control of the ball when Rick Wood tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sheriff's Apostolis Kaliasis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save Sheriff from getting a goal against them. 19 minutes into the match, Minas Bissias had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jacobus Van Landewijck. FC Bredene's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Minas Bissias was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Minas Bissias blasted a shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jacobus Van Landewijck having to make a save. 28 minutes into the match, Minas Bissias had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jacobus Van Landewijck. FC Bredene's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Minas Bissias was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. Jacobus Van Landewijck took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Argyris Kalaitzidis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Sheriff's Minas Bissias in the 37th minute got a chance for a shot 37th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC Bredene's goalie prevented a goal. In the 39th minute, Dimitris Kabitsis ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jacobus Van Landewijck was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-5. Dimitris Kabitsis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jacobus Van Landewijck having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Minas Bissias made the kick off in the second half. A well placed Minas Bissias short distance shot in the 51st minute ended with a hard ball which without a chance for the goalkeeper went staright up into the goalkeepers left cross. Jacobus Van Landewijck was a little too slow when Argyris Kalaitzidis got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 56th minute. The score was now 0-7. After 58 played minutes FC Bredene got a freekick which was hit by Teun Leemans. In the 63rd minute, Sheriff's Minas Bissias dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-8. If Sakis Panagoulis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dimitris Kabitsis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jacobus Van Landewijck having to interfere. In the 72nd minute, Teun Leemans hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, FC Bredene's Jacobus Van Landewijck got control of the ball when Minas Bissias tried to sneak it across the goal line. 80 minutes into the match, Minas Bissias had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jacobus Van Landewijck. Jacobus Van Landewijck showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Minas Bissias, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. A hard shot 87 in the game by Dimitris Kabitsis from a close distance when the talented Jacobus Van Landewijck managed to make a qualified save. FC Bredene's players were relieved. 88 minutes into the match, Giannis Basinas dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Jacobus Van Landewijck, 0-12.
