After a defensive mix-up in Rondeau's zone, Erik Ljusberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Domingos Mambru came out of the goal and Erik Ljusberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Ingvar Söderström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Teodosio Primeiro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Erik Ljusberg got free with Domingos Mambru in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Erik Ljusberg might have been able to make a better finish in the 54th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Domingos Mambru. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Erik Ljusberg ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind Rondeau's goalkeeper Domingos Mambru, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Sten Skark was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 56 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Norrlands Athen's Sten Skark got a free kick in the 56th minute. Gustaf Holm stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Teodosio Primeiro's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. If Ingvar Söderström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rondeau's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Norrlands Athen the free kick. Omar Costante charged in rather forcefully in the 95th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Omar Costante the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Norrlands Athen walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
