Kalin Chachevski charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kalin Chachevski the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. XMAS's Dave Maestri got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Slavcho Vandev made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ennio De Nardis in the 22nd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lilcho Stiliyanov got free with Filippo Barbato in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Slavcho Vandev showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Enrico Leoni, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Slavcho Vandev took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Achille Zara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kalin Chachevski was shown his second yellow card after 34 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. A collision led to CSKA-LULIN getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Kalin Chachevski hit a great ball. Gercho Borkov took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Filippo Barbato. Filippo Barbato dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Arhangel Marikin hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. 47 minutes into the match, CSKA-LULIN's goal looked a bit too open when Achille Zara came free, but Slavcho Vandev reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Achille Zara stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ennio De Nardis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Slavcho Vandev having to interfere. When Lilcho Stiliyanov fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored CSKA-LULIN's protests and gave Lilcho Stiliyanov a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of XMAS booed when CSKA-LULIN was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lilcho Stiliyanov didn't get a good kick on the ball. Slavcho Vandev made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Enrico Leoni sent off a good shot on target. After 65 minutes, Fabio Simonetti mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the XMAS and the CSKA-LULIN players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 66th minute, Fabio Simonetti hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Achille Zara could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Slavcho Vandev made a huge save. Gercho Borkov hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Ennio De Nardis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Slavcho Vandev was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. When Arhangel Marikin fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored CSKA-LULIN's protests and gave Arhangel Marikin a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to CSKA-LULIN getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Arhangel Marikin hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in CSKA-LULIN's zone, Christian Zaccardi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Slavcho Vandev came out of the goal and Christian Zaccardi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the referee blew the final whistle, CSKA-LULIN could leave the field as winners, despite XMAS having more of the ball for most of the match.
