The audience thought a goal was coming when Milosz Koprowski got free with Edgar Davids in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 42 minutes into the match, Gothic Souls's goalkeeper Edgar Davids had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Walery Ludwa. In the 42nd minute, Aydın Secaat hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 46th minute, Gothic Souls's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Walery Ludwa fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Paul Scholes was the one to do the kick off. Ryszard Lerych showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paul Scholes, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. In the 79th match minute, Szczakowianka was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mikolaj Tusk to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Szczakowianka booed when Gothic Souls was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mehmet Anıl Belge didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 84 played minutes Szczakowianka got a freekick which was hit by Wojciech Niziolek. Ryszard Lerych took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Öztürk Umuralp, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mithat Cevan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Ryszard Lerych made a huge save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Öztürk Umuralp in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ryszard Lerych saved Szczakowianka from getting behind. With a little luck, Szczakowianka's Ryszard Lerych got control of the ball when Paul Scholes tried to sneak it across the goal line.
