Sonny Åkesson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 4 minutes, Emeterio Somalo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Imperio Catatumbo de Lara and the Hermanö Oilers players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 3rd minute of the game. One of Imperio Catatumbo de Lara:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Hermanö Oilers:s goal. Gigi Buffon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kenny Molander in the 9th minute of play. 13 minutes into the match, Batista Diana notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Hermanö Oilers's Sonny Åkesson. Sonny Åkesson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a rather tough play, Hermanö Oilers's Gustav Högström got a free kick in the 19th minute. Hermanö Oilers's Sonny Åkesson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Batista Diana in the 21st minute of play. After 22 minutes Hermanö Oilers's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Eudoxio Queipo who took care of the corner kick. Eudoxio Queipo made a great header on Imperio Catatumbo de Lara's corner, it was just that Hermanö Oilers's Sonny Åkesson managed to reach the ball for a save. Gigi Buffon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anton Mattsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kenny Molander could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Gigi Buffon made a huge save. Gunnar Linberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Paulin Rosales kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. In the 37th minute Anton Mattsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gigi Buffon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 42 minutes into the match, Batista Diana had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sonny Åkesson. Hermanö Oilers's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Batista Diana was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. In the 47th match minute, Hermanö Oilers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gunnar Linberg to maneuver through the defense. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The wind increased when Batista Diana made the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Imperio Catatumbo de Lara's Paulin Rosales sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sonny Åkesson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 62nd minute, Imperio Catatumbo de Lara's Batista Diana ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Sonny Åkesson. Sonny Åkesson yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. Imperio Catatumbo de Lara's Nicolao Valderramal was substituted for Paulin Rosales. Imperio Catatumbo de Lara made a substitution. Osmundo Puertas replaced Batista Diana. In the 66th match minute, Imperio Catatumbo de Lara was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emeterio Somalo to maneuver through the defense. 71 minutes into the match, Imperio Catatumbo de Lara's goal looked a bit too open when Kenny Molander came free, but Gigi Buffon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Imperio Catatumbo de Lara's Gigi Buffon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anton Mattsson in the 78th minute of play. In the 82nd minute Anton Mattsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gigi Buffon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sonny Åkesson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Osmundo Puertas's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. Osmundo Puertas might have been able to make a better finish in the 85th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sonny Åkesson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Osmundo Puertas ran back to his position shaking his head. Sonny Åkesson made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Eloi Bermudo sent off a good shot on target. Sonny Åkesson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Osmundo Puertas's shot from short distance in the 95th minute. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Imperio Catatumbo de Lara had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
