But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Karadeniz Tunç couldn't finish the play. 9 minutes into the match, GAUJA's goal looked a bit too open when Alpertunga Bozkurt came free, but Brencis Dermans reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Karadeniz Tunç had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Dilmen Çağkar fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Denizli's protests and gave Dilmen Çağkar a yellow card for diving instead. In the 16th minute, Dilmen Çağkar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Denizli's Alpertunga Bozkurt got a free kick in the 19th minute. Arif Çelebi Ersunal stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rinalds Brencsons's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. Arif Çelebi Ersunal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Uldis Kuzītis, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. The supporters of GAUJA booed when Denizli was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. İsa Çakman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Arif Çelebi Ersunal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gunārs Skaistkalns in the 32nd minute of the match. 35 minutes into the match, Denizli's goalkeeper Arif Çelebi Ersunal had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Uldis Kuzītis. Poyraz Hünkar charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Poyraz Hünkar the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Denizli getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Poyraz Hünkar hit a great ball. In the 38th match minute, GAUJA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Herberts Mendziņš to maneuver through the defense. Rinalds Brencsons received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Arif Çelebi Ersunal came out and tried to block the shot, but Rinalds Brencsons slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 40th minute. 45 minutes into the game, GAUJA's Herberts Mendziņš nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Arif Çelebi Ersunal made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.
GAUJA's Brencis Dermans proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save GAUJA from getting a goal against them. When Rinalds Brencsons fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored GAUJA's protests and gave Rinalds Brencsons a yellow card for diving instead. In the 57th minute, Rinalds Brencsons hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 59th minute, Igmārs Pinkevics hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Arif Çelebi Ersunal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Uldis Kuzītis, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. 66 minutes into the game, Rinalds Brencsons cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Arif Çelebi Ersunal was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Arif Çelebi Ersunal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rinalds Brencsons in the 72nd minute of the match. Arif Çelebi Ersunal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rinalds Brencsons, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arif Çelebi Ersunal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Uldis Kuzītis in the 74th minute of play. After 75 played minutes Denizli got a freekick which was hit by Karadeniz Tunç. An unexpectedly hard shot by Karadeniz Tunç in the 77th minute of play forced GAUJA's goalkeeper Brencis Dermans to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arif Çelebi Ersunal didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Uldis Kuzītis went, in the 80th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. In the 86th minute Rinalds Brencsons shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arif Çelebi Ersunal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Denizli's Arif Çelebi Ersunal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gunārs Skaistkalns in the 93rd minute of play. In the 94th minute Rinalds Brencsons shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arif Çelebi Ersunal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. GAUJA fully deserved thier win.
