Albirex Niigata FC's Sajeev Lam played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonel Jacinto in the 3rd minute of play. 7 minutes into the match, Blumenau Esporte Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Firdauz Devan came free, but Vivaldo Paraíba reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 9th minute, Blumenau Esporte Clube's Flávio Meireles dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. In the 17th minute of the match, Flávio Meireles tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Sajeev Lam saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Sajeev Lam made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bruno Branco in the 21st minute. Azli Seah fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vivaldo Paraíba having to interfere. Azli Seah received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Vivaldo Paraíba tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sajeev Lam made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bruno Branco in the 31st minute. Sajeev Lam showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bruno Branco in the 33rd minute of the match. In the 35th minute, Blumenau Esporte Clube's Délio Gerber dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. In the 38th match minute, Blumenau Esporte Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emerson Proença to maneuver through the defense. If Azli Seah had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 40th minute Mohammad Peng shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vivaldo Paraíba saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 43 minutes, Azli Seah managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Albirex Niigata FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Azli Seah was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 46th minute, Shukrie Devan made a precise shot to the right of Vivaldo Paraíba. Blumenau Esporte Clube's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Azli Seah made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Bruno Branco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Daniel Chuan hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Daniel Chuan was shown his second yellow card after 56 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The supporters of Blumenau Esporte Clube booed when Albirex Niigata FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Chuan didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Albirex Niigata FC defense, Beto Vander kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sajeev Lam. The Albirex Niigata FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sajeev Lam should have stopped the shot. The nice shot from Mohammad Peng in the 67thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Vivaldo Paraíba had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. Leonel Jacinto hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Vivaldo Paraíba made a fantastic save in the 70th minute, when Mohammad Peng sent off a good shot on target. Flávio Meireles kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Blumenau Esporte Clube's Josué Montenegro got a free kick in the 86th minute. Vivaldo Paraíba was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Mohammad Peng. Shukrie Devan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Vivaldo Paraíba tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Blumenau Esporte Clube's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
