When Américo Severo came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Pinhote FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Américo Severo couldn't finish the play. A collision led to TaTeRo Boys getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Luciano Loureiro hit a great ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Américo Severo to make the kick off. Romário Pontes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Santiago Bulhosa in the 52nd minute of the match. Santiago Bulhosa spun around in front of the goal 52 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of TaTeRo Boys's goal. Alberto Domingos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andrézinho Abreu, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Romário Pontes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Santiago Bulhosa in the 63rd minute of play. In the 67th minute Américo Severo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Romário Pontes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Pinhote FC's Renato Domingos slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Romário Pontes. That made the score 0-5 after 69 minutes of play. Romário Pontes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Américo Severo, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute.
