Union Madereros's Erasmo Jenaro shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Reijo Ilola came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Club Dep. Union Madereros reached it. Albino Maldonado didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Kaarlo Heliskoski went, in the 8th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. In the 13th minute of the match Rauli Hartikainen shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Albino Maldonado showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Teuvo Karjalainen's late challenge caught a Club Dep. Union Madereros's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Teuvo Karjalainen helped the player get up and apologised. Club Dep. Union Madereros's attentive Erasmo Jenaro managed to snatch the ball when Jere Noronen made a throw-in in the 18th minute of the game. 19 minutes into the match, Club Dep. Union Madereros's Maximiliano Misael sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Reijo Ilola narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ossi Sainio hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Maximiliano Misael succeeded in the game's 24th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-1. The supporters of Club Dep. Union Madereros booed when Karhulan Veikot was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kaarlo Heliskoski didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Maximiliano Misael in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Reijo Ilola saved Karhulan Veikot from getting behind. In the 29th minute, Kyösti Hurme hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Filomeno Salamon came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Club Dep. Union Madereros fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Filomeno Salamon couldn't finish the play. In the 33rd minute, Maximiliano Misael got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maximiliano Misael in the 35th minute of play forced Karhulan Veikot's goalkeeper Reijo Ilola to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ossi Sainio hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. After 37 played minutes, Club Dep. Union Madereros's Placido Domingues shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Reijo Ilola came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. The referee ignored Karhulan Veikot's protests and gave Rauli Hartikainen a yellow card for diving instead. After 40 played minutes Karhulan Veikot got a freekick which was hit by Rauli Hartikainen. After a rather tough play, Karhulan Veikot's Teuvo Karjalainen got a free kick in the 44th minute. Reijo Ilola showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maximiliano Misael, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ari Alin made a kick off. Blas Bitxintxo hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Club Dep. Union Madereros's Albino Maldonado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kaarlo Heliskoski in the 52nd minute of play. After 56 minutes of play Karhulan Veikot's Rauli Hartikainen was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 57th match minute, Karhulan Veikot was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rauli Hartikainen to maneuver through the defense. In the 59th minute, Club Dep. Union Madereros's Maximiliano Misael ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Reijo Ilola. Reijo Ilola yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. After having played for 71 minutes, Filomeno Salamon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Dep. Union Madereros's supporters crossed their fingers, but Filomeno Salamon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 72nd match minute, Karhulan Veikot was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ossi Sainio to maneuver through the defense. Filomeno Salamon could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Reijo Ilola made a huge save. A hard shot 75 in the game by Maximiliano Misael from a close distance when the talented Reijo Ilola managed to make a qualified save. Karhulan Veikot's players were relieved. In the 82nd minute, Placido Domingues hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Turo Raninen kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Elpidio Oinatz got free with Reijo Ilola in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kaarlo Heliskoski in the 90th minute of play forced Club Dep. Union Madereros's goalkeeper Albino Maldonado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 95th minute, Kaarlo Heliskoski left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Karhulan Veikot fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3.
